iPad 16GB + 3G 1G

I have been offered an iPad 1st gen with 3G for £100 I will only really be using it for web and I guess the odd movie. It is in mint condition. Just not really sure if it is still worth it.

I have looked on ebay and they are still going for £170+

Sure, why not? This is about $153 in USD.

One thing to be aware of: Before updating your OS on your ipad, check to see how other first-gen ipad users like it. Let them be the early adopters. If it works well, go for it, but if not, you can hang back on your current version of iOS. Let everyone else be the guinea pigs. It's a common thing for the "earliest supported" iOS devices for any particular version to be sluggish on the iOS versions released 2-3 years later.
