IPAD 1st Gen. won't turn on! Shows lines but no logo!

Hi!

My Ipad 1st gen. turns on and when I plug it in to charge it makes the sound and I can see what is on it when I plug it in but nothing shows up on the screen except lines. Looks like white and colored lines when I try and turn it on to normally see the apple logo or login screen.

Please help!
