iPad iPad 2 $399 is a joke

This device was unveiled in 2011 and they've only dropped it $100?
At $399, i could go online and get an iPad 3, probably a 4 too for mid $300's.

Heck my iPad 3 16gb wifi sold for $310 on ebay just 2 days ago.

What im trying to say is...if people are trying to save money with iPad 2....do yourself a favor, Get a 3 or 4 for much less $

Its 5C all over again. You would have thought that Apple would have learned about being cheap from the 5c flop. (And if you think Apple is doing well with the 5c, why have they cut production on the 5c and raised production of the 5s?)

The OP has a point though. For $399 you get 2.5 year old tech for more than the price of a third or fourth gen (refurb or ebay/cl). This price point makes no sense for the consumer. People paying that much are being ripped off.

If Apple wants to offer a non-retina/retina split in their lineup, like they have announced, they could at least update the internals of the non-retina.
 
yeap, it's a joke at current price, but same thing price wise goes w/ the 5C and look how many are buying them.

Agreed 100%. Who would buy the iPad 2 when the mini has a higher res screen, weighs less, and has a 2 generation newer processor for the SAME price? Pure stupid.

Plenty of post in the past whereby folks seemed to care about retina mainly and would buy the new one regardless of specs.
 
Reminds me of the thread earlier this year where a bloke's mom bought what she thought was the "new iPad" and turns out she didn't know enough and bought a new iPad 2. Got it home and shocked her son when he found out she paid full price for the old tech. Being in the UK she couldn't just return it for a refund either.

This will happen in the states. People, not knowing any better, will buy the iPad 2 thinking they're getting something latest and greatest. At least here they can return it if they have tech loving sons and daughters to steer them in the right direction!
