I don't know how it worked last year as I got the Wifi only model.. This year I want to get the 3G model.. Will it be available on day one? or will it be released later?

Steve Jobs announced it in the keynote "they are all shipping from day 1"
Last year, i believe they did release it later.

Awesome thanks!! I just hate that I work friday so I have to order online and wait till next week... So I am hoping they ship via fedex so I can call and tell them to hold it so it won't be left on my porch....

No Problem, Enjoy! I won't be getting mine until about April 17:( at least the line will be gone.

Does anyone know FedEx's Policy on calling them and having them hold it? or what about UPS.. (Since we don't know who they will be shipping with)

UPS requires one delivery attempt to be made before you can do that, I believe. I'd imagine Fedex is the same.

Might be worthwhile to check fedex.com and ups.com to see if they have information to answer that question. I'd guess each site would at least publish a customer service phone # you could call as well if you didn't find the info on their site.

Cool Thanks..

EDIT:

Found both policies!

FedEx: if the shipment is already on its way, you can request a redirect to an eligible FedEx location in the delivery area of the original destination address.

UPS:UPS will deliver your package to the UPS Customer Center you choose and then call the recipient when the package is ready. Packages are usually available by 8:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of delivery.

Im Kind of relieved I don't want my package left on the porch..
