I'm considering buying an iPad 2 to replace taking my 15" Macbook Pro to university but I'm not sure if I can do the same things I need my MBP for.

Which are recording the lecture via the microphone and taking notes, which on my MPB I do via wiretap pro for audio and Mira for notes.

I know that apps for both these functions exist but is it possible to run them side by side so that I can record audio and take notes at the same time?

Any help given is appreciated =) Thanks

Yep, that is doable. There are specific apps that can do just that...
