Crazy how much battery life the "retina" display drains the new iPad.

Apple nearly doubled the battery size (25 -> 42.5 watt hours) and yet still only has the same 10 hours of battery life as the previous version!

I'd like the option of an iPad 2 with a 42.5 watt hour battery as well! ;)

It's because of the retina display. The processor has to do a lot of work processing sp much of data..

But I agree with u, iPad 2 with the new battery. Killer.. ;)

I wish iOS had Androids battery information that tells you exactly what uses your battery down to each % point. It would be nice to see just how much battery goes to what...

I noticed that too. It's a huge battery upgrade though will little implication on the size or weight of the device. Nothing makes a device more hungry than boosted screen resolution, especially for gaming. Try getting a high resolution display for your computer and bump up the settings for games and you'll see how it will start sweating.

Yeah it's amazing that device weight hasn't increased significantly when most of the device is the battery.
