My iPad 2 battery isnt lasting as long as it used to.
It used to last all day, until I went to bed, and then some.
Now, it is almost dead by 9-10 pm

Yeah, thats pretty typical of any battery, whats your beef? Batteries don't stay 100% healthy forever, they do degrade over time and use.

I've had it a little over a year. As battery life shouldnt drop 20% in 2 hours.

So no, that's not pretty typical.
Actually, I checked. It's been almost a year to the date of purchase.
My AppleCare runs out April 20th 2013

has your usage habits changed? watching more videos, playing more games, etc. agree with above poster though, batteries WILL degrade over time gradually. if you think it's abnormal, take it to Apple and see what they say.

playing Draw Something will eat up battery usage.
as will some of the new fancy shmancy games.

working on Wifi or 3G? editing and saving pictures/movies?

Nope to all of the above.
Taking it in this afternoon.

20% in 2 hours is a 10 hour battery life. As advertised. What more do you want? Assuming the battery meter is accurate, which is not always the case.

What are your charging habits? Do you let it drop to zero% occasionally? Is it a 20% drop with 2 hours of use (which is pretty normal) or does it drop 20% while in sleep mode?

Is there anything different with your wireless settings at home? If it's seeking the wireless network actively and not connecting then it will suck up juice very quickly even when it's not in use.

Yes, that is for continuos use. Which isn't the case here.

the depends.

the 10 hr battery life that Apple claims for the ipad2 (and 3) is for wifi enabled, internet browsing, some app use(?), and screen brightness set at a certain % (can't recall at the moment).

if he was just using the ipad as an ereader, no internet, the battery life should be well over 10 hrs. the thing is that the OP hasn't disclosed what he's doing on the ipad during the observed battery drain.

Why don't you mind your own business, and keep your snarky comments to yourself, if you have no useful info to add.

Go complain about your crappy battery life to Apple. You asked, I informed.

Ever heard of a battery half life? Why don't you look it up.

Is that useful enough for you?

Hi didn't inform anything.
Like I said, why don't you buzz off, and go be a smartass elsewhere.
