I've had a WiFi2 for about 18 months and it's worked flawlessly. Just today, the WiFi refused to connect. No changes were made before this occurred. It just stopped. It shows the networks and requires the passkey (WPA2) but the wheel keeps spinning and says that it cannot connect to the internet. I've have several other devices (computers, TVs, routers, etc...) that all connect perfectly and have verified all my routers/access points are working fine.

I've done a complete restore, reset, etc...on the device and it still won't connect. I know it's out of warranty but other than WiFi, it seems to work fine. However, it is relatively useless if it can't get WiFi (mail, internet, apps, etc..)

Any other suggestions to solve this conundrum?

Power down your Router and Modem for 2 minutes.

Restart your modem then your Router.

iOS 6 and not jailbroken.

Not sure what a DFU restore is. I've done the restore through iTunes (after a hard reset).

I did the DFU Restore and that did the trick. It's working perfectly now. Still not sure how the firmware got corrupted since the iPad has never been jailbroken.

Anyway, thanks "blueroom" for the advice!

I have been loosing wifi occasionally ever since I upgraded to IO6. I found 2 ways to fix the problem and get back wifi connection:
1-go to settings, turn off wifi, wait few seconds and turn it back on. connection will come back
2- Press and hold your wifi router reset button for few seconds, then release it That should bring back wifi.
Both methods work for me all the time
