The new tapered design of the iPad 2 has also lead to a change in the dock connector design. (I never had an iPad before - might get one now though, so I cannot compare.) It looks really flimsy and looks like it will snap the connector off quite easily.

How is it and does it work with docks that only have the connector protruding out? (Nothing else at the back to support it) I assume that the weight of the iPad might snap it off, which is clearly undesirable.
 
So far no reports have surfaced about connectors snapping off, and from my personal experience, its actually more durable than you think.
 
The only way it may snap would be if you held the connector tight while dropping the iPad. In other words, it won't happen.
