iPad 2 iTunes not recognizing for update

Hi all

My iPad2 needs to be updated with 10.5 however ever time I connect the device, iTunes is giving me an error saying that I need to go to iTunes to download it. However, I have the update on the work server. Usually I would click 'alt' right click on restore once the iPad has been recognized and then manually selected the update and voila. Except now the iPad isn't recognized by iTunes.

Anyone know what I can do?
