ipad 2 mic

SO i assume ipad 2 has a mic but will it be better or worse than the one built in on the mac. The one on the mac isn't great and you can't do profesional recording on it but will the ipad 2 totally suck si I will need to buy a mic to plugin for garageband or will it be ok?

Seems like it will be about the same, though the hole looks a tiny bit wider. It's not stereo or anything like that though.

So you are still left with using a microphone that will plug into the dock port for better audio.
