Not that I'm aware of, i don't think this has ever been possible on any apple device.

I think ur friend might be thinking of "fakeclockup"
It makes the animations actually look like the phones going fast.
But other than that, u can't over clock an idevice

your friends misinformed. You can speed up the UI animations, making transitions appear a little faster. No real over clock i wish there was.
