Just got my iPad2. Obviously, it charges with the charger included with the unit but it appears to not be charging when connected via USB to my MBP (when my MBP is plugged into its own transformer).

Is this correct or should I be able to charge the pad from my laptop via USB like I can do with my iphone 4?

Because Ipad needs more power to charge, it will not charge vis USB port from your computer.

You can do google search on this and it will tell you exactly why.

It can be charged using USB if Ipad is asleep or off but it is not the best way to charger.
