iPad 2 Refuses to charge

My iPad 2 just won't charge. I bought it around June so it is still under warranty but I would really like to see if theres any other solution than walking into the store.

Details:

iPad 2 - WiFi - 16GB

* Tried to charge it today after about a week of no use. Plugged it into my Mac Mini and iTune doesn't recognize it because the iPad doesn't have enough charge to boot iOS. (The screen shows a red battery and it shows that it is charging). It stays in this screen indefinitely it won't go past the red battery screen (and yes it is charging the screen says so) I tried connecting using my AC Adapter as while no difference.The cable is fine too. I then did a DFU restore. Same thing.....

Personally, I would just take it to the store or call apple. Seems like you did everything you could.
