I am looking for an app that i can use to connect to my MacBook and PC.
I am using MS remote desktop on my Mac to connect to another PC for my work. I will need to use FileMaker Pro when i am connected to the PC (MS 2003 Server). If there's an app like this then i can just bring my iPad2 outside rather than my MacBook.

Do these app require any setting on PC? This is because the PC i am connecting to is in another country. I would prefer to have an app that works like MS remote desktop where i just need the server name and password that i connect to.

Team viewer is fairly simple; you need to start a little connector app on your remote hardware; no admin rights needed ( when I correct remember)
The little hurdle you might have is that when you start a session you need to enter a passcode provided from the remote system: that need to be told by someone after TV started. I thing after that it don't change anymore.

Check their web site for deals; there are also versions for better remote control with remote locations; mint fit you better compared to simple version.

I really love Screens. You install a listener program to help with the router port management but overall it uses VNC. The listener is available for Mac and Windows, and the app is very intuitive on the iPad.

I really like "Jump" it provides both VNC (Apple) and RDP (Windows) remote access - it also provides three keyboard layouts - alpha, numeric and function/up-down-left-right arrows... It was well done, tho I have not tried may others.

"Jump" does not provide (to my knowledge) remote access off your network - i.e. If your network firewall blocks or nats and/or your outside IP randomly rotates (DHCP) you'd have to get something like a Dynamic DNS record out there to reference your machine remotely when that IP changes – open up TCP 5900 (VNC) or 3389 (RDP) on the firewall and/or a static nat or port forward. While at home or work - while on the local LAN, no problem.

I expect Go2MyPC does all this for you by running a program locally on your machine to keep it open to your RDP request – but I would bet there is a monthly subscription $$ behind that. If you can adapt the network to provide the DNS, open up the ports etc – “Jump” is a one-time out the door – that’s it flat fee.

can anyone help me set up how to use splashtop on 3G and a different wifi than my home one? Im on a MAC
