I have an iPad 2 with AT&T cellular service, updated to iOS 7.. I have never activated the AT&T cell service, and it says "No Service" where it used to say AT&T in the top left corner in iOS 6.

I'm wondering if it says No Service because if in iOS 7 they changed what is displayed if the service is not activated, or if there something wrong. I can set up an AT&T account in System Settings but since I don't want to activate the cellular service I don't want to do that.

Thank you in advance for your help.

It sounds like since the service is not active its going to show in the corner "No Service" If you are paranoid there is something wrong with the device you can use a friends AT&T Sim and see if it changes back to the AT&T display. Obviously the service will not be active, but it will show.
