My new iPad 2 is truly magical. It is so magical that it is capable of manipulating the screen without any contact. I've attached a video for your viewing pleasure. Has anyone else experienced this problem on their new iPad 2? I didn't have much of a problem last night, but this morning it is pretty much unusable.

Sexy aint it?

On a side note, it's a great demo of the speed of the iPad 2. Look how smoothly everything opens and closes.

ha ha, it's a feature. it's supposed to be magical and revolutionary. It's so smart it uses itself

Now that's good! haha!!!!

Seriously - Reject, return, replace!!!!

Sorry you ended up with a weirdo - and I hope Apple can get you a replacement soon. I may have missed it, but have you done all the restarts and restoring?

Took it in to the Genius Bar. They have not gotten any service units in yet. Said it would be a couple of weeks. I just returned it at that point. I'll just put an order online and wait like the rest of the world. :(

Interesting fact: On the way to the store, the iPad was sitting on the leather seat beside me in the sun. When I got to the store, it exhibited no signs of the problem in the car in the parking lot. I had the video, so I thought I would still show them that and see what I should do. After waiting in the cold Apple store for my appointment for 10 minutes minutes, the problem started happening again.

I won't make any guesses as to what's really going on here, but I'm sure you guys can. :) Ghosts like the cold and not the heat?

I'm not losing my marbles afterall

. . .I'm experiencing the same problem and on top of the "ghost" when I try to use the keyboard it's as if the key is stuck so try a type ipad and you iiiiipppppppppaaad - nightmare if you're trying to enter your password as it clicks submit too. . .

Did you get any advice from Apple - I've been told to restore factory settings again and only add an app at a time as they say that its a corrupted app that might be causing the problem

Try cleaning the screen thoroughly, if that doesn't work give it a reboot (if you can ;)).

I've had something similar on my iphone, cleaning the screen cured it. It's like there's a magic particle of dust that can trigger the touch screen or something. At other times, I've been unable to 'swipe to answer' when receiving a call on the iphone - again, a quick wipe of the screen fixes it instantly. And that's happened on all 3 iphones I've owned, so it's not a hardware issue :)
