iPad 2 smart cover on an office desk, not ideal

I've been using the iPad with the smart cover for a few days (with a bluetooth keyboard). I've found that the cover doesn't elevate the screen enough when layed flat or is too vertical for touch functionality when stood up. Anyone else having this issue?

Works fine for me. I've used it a few times to take notes in meetings with it in the typing angle.

I usually set it all on top of the neoprene netbook sleeve I keep it in. Keeps it from sliding around or the back from getting scratched by something on the table/desk I didn't notice etc.
