iPad 2 very sluggish performance, iOS 5.1.1

I have iPad 2 on iOS 5.1.1 and the performance on that has become very very sluggish since last couple of months. I am not really sure what the problem is. The iPad is jailbroken if that matters. There is more than 1GB space free on it. Crashes multiple times and clicking on any icon the response comes after few seconds. Sometimes it resprings.
Can anyone suggest me what all I can check to troubleshoot this ?
I don't really want to restore since I want to stay jailbroken.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hard to help when its jailbroken. Not saying jailbreaking is a bad thing but sometimes it makes trouble shooting difficult because its hard to know whats really going on in there.

Not sure what to tell ya? have you searched for jailbroken ipad forum help or whatever?
