Ipad 2 video out experiment?

it appears that the ipad 2 has screen mirroring to a tv but only with HDMI or to VGA with apples cables. I have not gotten my ipad 2 yet but i am curious to know if anyone has experimented with the HDMI then to an HDMI to RCA cables. The tv I want to connect my ipad 2 with has only rca connections and it would be nice if i could cable it to work that way. Apple does have the ipad 2 to rca cable, but that connection does not allow screen mirroring. From all that I can tell off the site and talking with other techies and the apple employees it is cable specific.....
