Okay, I picked up a 16GB Verizon iPad 2 back in June of 2011 and I couldn't sign up for 3G because it had a duplicate MEID. I was going to get it switched, but I picked up a 4G Hotspot and I no longer needed the 3G.

Anyway, I picked up the new iPad recently and I was going to sell my iPad 2, but then I remembered the 3G doesn't work. So I took it to the Apple Store since it's still under warranty to see if I could get it replaced. But they looked at it, and now all of a sudden--the 3G works.

It's weird, the last time I tried I couldn't sign up for an account because of the duplicate MEID. Now I can. I'm still selling it, but I just thought I'd share this story. I guess it was a software issue, which is weird since they were recalling them back in June.
