We have an iPad 3 which was purchased in March 2012, and my question what is the expected battery life for an iPad battery; 2 years, 3years?

Is there any way to look up the overall battery condition?

The best and most correct answer is between 500 to 1000 cycles.

A properly maintained iPad battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 full charge and discharge cycles.

To figure out days, you'd have to reverse engineer it by seeing how many days it takes you to do a full battery cycle.
