iPad 3 digital audio out?

Can anyone tell me how this is possible and what I need?. I heard I could buy a third party usb camera kit but wasn't sure what else I needed?.

The iPad 3 can only output digital sound via the HDMI adapter over an HDMI cable.

Not sure what sort of thing you plan on using the digital out for, but the apple TV might be a good solution for you. You can pick one up for 100 bucks and mirror your iPad's display on anything you can connect the HDMI cable to. Best of luck!
