For some unknown reasons the headphone socket of my iPad 3 came lose. Sometimes one channel works, but usually there is no headphone sound and the internal speaker will not switch off.

I wonder what my options are?

I am out of warranty. I am technically rather advanced, but looking at the iFixit video I don't think I want to do that.

Any idea what the Apple repair would cost? Are there any other options to use headphone? The iPad won't bluetooth connect to my phone. Is it possible to get headphone feed via HDMI - or will an HDMI connection automatically switch off the screen?
