The keyboard which pops up when you want to type something (email, message, reminders, calendar etc) isn't coming up. It was initially sporadic but now not showing up period. Would prefer not to have to restore - can someone help? I'm not seeing any info anyplace showing it is happening to other iPad users...

Were you or are you connected to a Bluetooth keyboard? You also might want to check your settings under General/Keyboard to see if something is wonky. Restoring from an iCloud backup is a piece of cake if you do have to reset your iPad.
