So I searched and found a lot of discussion about charging times for the iPad 3.
I know this has been grinded but have not seen my question answered anywhere.

From what I can find, the stock 10W iPad charger takes quite some time to charge the iPad, and making a more powerful charger to charge faster won't makes no sense since the iPad will limit the amount of power going into the battery.

However there is also the issue with charging while using, for example I have a 10W car charger, but If I use the iPad as a GPS navigator, I will actually loose battery even though it is showing as charging.

So the iPad is using more power than the 10W charger can provide, so it has to use from the battery also.

So i'm wondering, is the iPad's total external powerdraw limited to 10W, or only the charge power going into the battery?

Could I for example have a 20W charger to use for when using the iPad while charging, to ensure it will still have enough power to charge the battery while using the iPad?
