I started noticing this recently. I am using the official Apple charger and cable. When I plug it in, it will charge until 100%. Then the next time I look at the screen, it says "Not Charging" for the rest of the day. If I unplug it, it reports 100%. If I plug it back in, it says it's charging again.

Any idea what this might be? Is it a bug? By design?

It stops charging when the battery is fully charged. It will not overcharge.
