I was wondering if someone could help me.

Just purchased an Ipad3 and found that the date (i.e. month) when displayed at the top of the screen is being shown in strange symbols/characters rather than specific text (saying "march"). When i go to settings, date & time, it again shows there strange characters here rather than the different months.

it is also displaying them in Mail when i check the date of individual emails.

It is difficult to explain exactly what the characters look like as i have never seen them before but one looks a bit arabic looking. i will see if i can post a snap shot up.

can anyone help and let me know if this is a bug or if i can change it?

Looks like a language setting, if it still continues after resetting the language then think about restoring it to factory settings (make sure its backed up through iTunes)
