Hello!

Last May I was given an iPad 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular as a gift.

I generally use my iPad at home, connecting to my Wi-Fi router, so I never signed up for any cellular data service. Of course I frequently get the message "No SIM card" but that's not a problem for me.

Now I have a doubt: I know that my iPad emits Wi-Fi radiations, but does it send out cellular type radiations too (even if there is no SIM card installed)?

Thank you
B.

I am sure the answer is NO.

If you are really worried about it then you can turn the cellular radio off in the settings tab. I would anyway in your situation, under the hope that it would improve battery life.

Just repeat after me: "non ionizing radiation".

Does the gps work without a sim card?

Hi tmarks11,

if I understand correctly, you are suggesting to turn on airplane mode and then activate Wi-Fi.

As for the GPS, it works without SIM card, but I have disabled location services to extend battery life. I always use my iPad at home, so I don't need to know where I am :D
