iPad 3g plan on iPhone

So i had my iPhone running on the 14.99 a month iPad 3g plan and then at&t changed something a while back and now my service is gone. You now need an official iPad imei to activate the service. I have a buddy who has an iPad 3g and is willing to let me use his imei number. If i use it will at&t cut us both off? can you only have 1 plan per imei? thanks

The IMEI is tied to the device and transmitted every time the device handshakes with a tower. Your plan will not work.

he lives downstate so we wouldn't be using the same tower, would it work then?

i did search but i cant find anything about after (6/1 i believe is when the change happened) can u maby point me in the right direction?

No. Your phone will transmit its IMEI and AT&T will see that that IMEI doesn't have a proper plan.
