Finally back in the game and looking to pick up the original Ipad 16gb 3G.

Is there any alternative way to pay for 3G service or is a credit card the only means. I prefer not use my credit card for this.

If your fear is of having your cc number stolen, some cc's allow generating limited use cc numbers for online purchases in which you can set the spending limit, # times it can be used, and the expiration date.

So I have the AT&T Post paid plan. Unlike the prepaid plan, you pay after usage. No credit card, they send me a bill.

Yes! Good information! I will definitely look into this option. Thank you.

if u dont even want a registered name on it just buy a prepaid card the most safe way to go.

I'm not sure if they will accept that. I've heard the CC needs a physical address, which the prepaid cards don't.

Has anyone activated their Ipad 3G service and paid using a prepaid CC?
