Ipad 3rdgen Box/Package... is their a pic? How to differentiate?

I was confused a bit with the difference between the ipad1 and ipad2 box..

is their a pic of the new box out yet?

Yes, the 1 was a face-on shot, the 2 was a side shot.

I haven't heard anything about the 3rd gen box. @bjmach: a link to where it is on Apple's site would be nice.

If ever wondering, just look at the part number on the back of the box.

Its the other way around, if you're that shallow to care that the box doesn't look different enough so people won't know you one, I'm surprised you even bought a new iPad, or a 3GS/4S, whats the point they look the same right?:rolleyes:
 
if you guys notice, it looks like an iPad 2 box, except the background in the iPad is the new blue one as opposed to the older more grey one. Easiest way to tell :D

it's not being shallow. it will be useful for people who are buying these things off of craigslist to know they are getting the right product.

Sadly I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some lowlifes trying this at the Walmart customer service counter.

that's the pic i posted, but the guys here say it's ipad2..

either way, if you are buying the ipad from a 3rd party source, the best way to differentiate is to turn it on and go to settings and check what version it is.. or i guess you can tell by the screen being retina or not

The sad part is, I have no doubt that will happen and hopefully the perpetrators are caught. :(

Grifters were selling iPad 2 boxes that were filled with wood, to buyers who handed over their money and didn't even open the box to see what was inside. All you need is the iPad 3 box and a shrink wrap machine.

no Ipad 2 is facing left to right at an angle and the new iPad is facing from right to left at an angle

You could buy an iPad2, leave it in the box and list it as:

"New iPad Sealed In-Box 32GB Wifi"

It's actually a true statement. It's not "THE" New iPad, but it is a New iPad (sigh)....

if the buyer is stupid enough to only look at the box when buying, they deserve to be scammed. i am saying it is just one more thing they can use to verify the product.

Saw an iPad1 ebay auction last year for "32GB AT&T 3G Black iPad 2 Cases Included"

Sure enough, it was a black 32GB AT&T 3G iPad1 with two cases included.

To be fair the listing had actual pics making it obvious it was an ipad1 and the text did state iPad1. So any buyer to get caught had to not be paying attention. Thought it was a good attention getting title. :D

I don't think stupid people deserve to be scammed just because they're stupid, but I see what you're saying.
