Here are some of my predictions for the "iPad 4" (due next year).

1. Same resolution, ppi and size
2. IGZO display
3. Thinner and lighter (due to IGZO)
4. Better cameras (finally no more VGA front camera). Guessing 8MP back due to crazy MP race.
5. Stereo speakers
6. A6 chip
7. Simply called "iPad". No number or anything.
8. Scrapping 16GB. Will be 32, 64, 128.

And here comes #9 which I doubt,

9. NFC. Due to iPads size I doubt NFC will come but you never know.

What do you guys think?

Next year? Maybe for x-mas sales or will that only be the iPhone 5?
They've always released the iPad around March/April. iPhone 5 Sep/Oct and even though I'm hesitant towards any iPad Mini it will probably be released by X-mas.

I would like stereo speakers, and if possible to mount them at the front, as Samsung did, in slits, but I don't think Apple will do either of these things.

It will probably remain mono and facing sideways/towards the bottom.

I'm not sure if it will ever be much thinner or lighter, if the CPU and GPU keeps increasing in power, then they will need more battery power, so even if battery tech does improve, it may only keep in line with CPU and GPU needs so it may not really change unless something radical happens.

Nuclear iPads ?

1. Same resolution, ppi and size

Agreed

2. IGZO display

Idk what that is sorry

3. Thinner and lighter (due to IGZO)

Hopefully, but they might just extend the battery life and herby keep the thiness and lightness the same.
4. Better cameras (finally no more VGA front camera). Guessing 8MP back due to crazy MP race.

Its a must, as the competition has gone ahead with it and apple must keep up to some extend with them.

5. Stereo speakers

Hopefully but might not happen.

6. A6 chip

Probably and most likely happening.

7. Simply called "iPad". No number or anything.

Don't see that happen, i think they will keep the numbering.

8. Scrapping 16GB. Will be 32, 64, 128.

Maybe... but wouldn't the iphone get 128 before the ipad? Just guessing so might be incorrect.

And here comes #9 which I doubt,

Mostly agree with you except for some points ^see above

Here are some of my predictions for the "iPad 4" (due next year).

1. Same resolution, ppi and size (Logical)
2. IGZO display (Possible.)
3. Thinner and lighter (due to IGZO) (My god what is with people and this thin and lightweight factor?! I'd request my 600$ device not feel like air and that it will break with the slightest shudder)
4. Better cameras (finally no more VGA front camera). Guessing 8MP back due to crazy MP race. (Surprised they didn't already give better cameras)
5. Stereo speakers (Logical Choice)
6. A6 chip (Of Course!)
7. Simply called "iPad". No number or anything. (That's already the name. iPad.)
8. Scrapping 16GB. Will be 32, 64, 128. (Possible)

And here comes #9 which I doubt,

9. NFC. Due to iPads size I doubt NFC will come but you never know. (Very possible. If the iPhone gets NFC, the iPad will for communication with the iPhone will, like Android Beam or whatever the HP tablet did)

What do you guys think?

Comments above.

I would add
10. a "World-LTE"
11. MagSafe connector
12. Could imagine more main memory

Don't think we will see 128; cloud storage to be used

I'm too busy enjoying my current generation iPad to concern myself with what mightier might not be available in an estimated time frame that only the psychic network friends could predict with any sort of accuracy.

Good predictions. I'd like to add there is small chance there might be a hybrid iPad that would allow you to choose your carrier on one device. It would be great to not have to worry about whether to get a Verizon or AT&T iPad. You'd just select whatever carrier has the best coverage in your area.

I agree about World-LTE but not magsafe, though they will scrap 30-pin for that smaller rumored connector.

A larger more well defined home button for Seniors.

They're the ones I see out in public, a blue tooth receiver stuck in their ear, and a decaf coffee in hand at Starbucks.

They love their iToyz.

Actually, I hope they get rid of the Home button. It's not necessary especially since you can enable the virtual Home button in the iPad settings. Once I was informed about this I haven't used the physical button in 2 months and don't see myself ever using it again. ;)

For me just a better processor and as was mentioned sizes 32/64/128GB.

???

FIFY

iPad 1st generation
iPad 2 2nd generation
iPad 3rd generation
iPad 4th generation

Notice only one of these stands out as different.

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC359LL/A

Notice the first one would not have any numbers regardless, they didnt call the iPhone the iPhone 1, the 1 is implied. Also notice that the fourth one doesn't even exist yet, so that name isn't confirmed, meaning you are basing the information that 4th iPad will not have numbers off of the assumption that the 4th iPad does not have numbers. So really it's between the iPad 2 and iPad 3rd generation, which is a 50/50 chance.

Hopefully it has speakers on the FRONT. I hate how muffled they are when it's resting on a bed or something.

Actually I feel exactly like you do. I was just kind of joking around about it.

Fact is, I've had not one, not two, but three iPhone home buttons fail rendering the phones useless. Two were under warranty and replaced free by Apple, the third one I chucked in disgust.

And I keep my phones exceptionally pristine, carry them in a luxury leather sleeve that covers the entire phone, and have never had a problem with any of the touch sensitive buttons on my Android phones.

So yes, I would like nothing more than for Apple to get rid of that stupid mechanical home button. :)

How do you get a virtual home button? Sounds like a great feature. Could not offhand find it in settings. Thx :)
