I'm an iPad 4 owner but I have a suggestion for this thread. iPad mini owners who think text is crisp on their displays even though they have or own retina devices mention this. On the other hand, Mini owners under the same circumstances who notice text is discernibly fuzzy also mention this along with your week and build info etc.

It seems some screens are sharper than others. I was at Apple yesterday with my friend who sold his iPad 2 for an iPad mini. I suggested we compared his newly opened Mini in store to the display ones. His Mini display appeared sharper and more crisp compared to a few Apple store models while the other 4 seemed pretty identical to his.

We asked the Apple set up person who was helping him for her input on this and she also noticed. She didn't have an opinion, she thought for a moment and mentioned those Mini owners with "fuzzier" screens could simply exchange it for a new one within the return policy.
