This is what Apple has posted. Not sure about what is not listed there. I would imagine as long as a carrier has their system set up and on a supported frequency, it should work. However, I am not an expert on those things.

That pretty much answers my question WRT LTE support.
However, I'm also interested in 3G support.
The box on my Verizon iPad4 says UMTS/GSM/EDGE/HSPA+/DC-HSPA. I'm wondering if that is a mistake or I could actually get GSM/HSPA+ if I'm with an AT&T SIM card.
I'm not fully sure, but my iPhone 5 (GSM) works on 3G since my carriers LTE hasn't launched yet. I would imagine the iPad is the same. Not sure about which models support which frequencies though
