How fast is your Internet connection? If you're using 3G, then the app will lower the quality of the video, where as if you're using Wi-Fi, it should be HQ.

If you're using Wi-Fi, try going onto Safari and watching videos via the mobile version of the YouTube site. (I'm not sure if it just directs to the app now, but I have a feeling it does now).

Hi Lunfai,

Am using Wi-Fi @ home which loads clear videos on my home computer. Tried going through Safari and Jasmine, but the clips still comes up blurred. Any further suggestions would be helpful thanks.

I do not mean to insult your intelligence in any way.... but have you changed the quality of the video loading (the option is under the gear icon on the bottom right of the video on youtube.com).

Apologies if you had already tried that... just a suggestion ;)

One dead pixel will not result in poor quality streaming. Rubbish internet sees to that.

I heard that when one pixel goes bad, all the neighboring pixels take notice and start to isolate that single pixel. After a few weeks or months even, that one pixel gets so lonely that it eventually is driven mad and creates a seismic impact that just really disrupts Youtube videos. That must be why yours are blurry

Idk though, that's just what I heard through the grapevine

Try the YouTube app. It's just had an update which allows you to specify video quality by tapping the three vertical dots on the right of the video window followed by the gear icon.

This definitely won't be because of a dead pixel though, there's no way that can impact quality in any way other than, well, having a dead pixel in the image.
