iPad 4 high load and hot while idle

Hi there,

I've got a strange issue since the last iOS update. My iPad 4 16 GB WiFi is hot while the screen is on. I've even restored iOS but the issue is still there. The app Status Lite shows me an average load of 1.x+ while idle which is obviously not the case if the iPad would really idle.

Location services and so on were also disabled.

Weeks ago my iPad was even cold while streaming the latest WWDC show but now gets unpleasantly hot while doing nothing.

What could this be?

Reboot and/or take it into apple to have them look at it. Clearly something isn't right.

Is it jailbroken, maybe its one the setting there if you had

It's not jailbroken. I've also tried a reboot before the restore and afterwards. Nothing changed.

The next Apple store is a two hour drive from here.

Have you tried closing all open applications? Double tap the home button and swipe upwards on all apps.
