So I got my new iPad 4 today, and when I compared my previous iPad 3 side by side with it I noticed a severe differentiation in the colors of the two screens.

The iPad 3 is a lot brighter, and the color a lot whiter.
The iPad 4 is a bit washed out and has a yellow hue.

I've heard about this problem before, should I ask for a replacement or just wait it out?

Mine's better than the screen of my former iPad 3 which was already very good.

This is the problem with Apple launching multiple products worldwide all at once - they are running into severe quality control issues from having to utilize multiple LCD manufactures. More manufacturers means more variance for error and inconsistency. My current iPhone 5 has the same problem - a dull piss-color yellow hue across everything.

OP, if you don't like the screen, return/exchange it. I recommend doing it at a different store than the one you got it from, in case yours was part of a batch.

There have been pockets of yellowish screens on nearly every iDevice made.

Yes, take em both in and loudly start out with, "Do all ipad 4's have a piss stained look?". Otherwise, I'd return it and try another store.
