Do you think they will release the ipad 5 in time for the back to school promo to still be in effect? if not, if i buy a 4 and wait 29 days for the new one will they still allow me to keep the $50.00 giftcard?

New iPads most likely aren't coming out in early September and I believe you only have a 14 window to return your device. If you got a gift card and want to return your device, Apple will charge you the equivalent amount.

Apple is very careful to avoid release times or set up conditions such that these type of things can't happen.
