What features do you guys expect for the next ipad Air?

I expect 802.11ac wifi.

Will it happen? No idea.

I expect a bigger rear camera.

Will it happen? Probably not, to keep price low.

I expect a faster processor.

Will it happen? No doubt, but it might be a "small" bump in speed compared to the latest update.

I expect it will be awesome.

Will it happen? No doubt.

iPad Air Pro obviously. A thinner device with a smaller bezel, yet with the usual 1 GB of RAM to accommodate all your browsing needs at one time.

frickin lasers!

Well seriously, I don't think it will have much of an upgrade at all, touch ID, better camera, lighter???

The iPad Pro may well be the star of the show next year.

Same design, Touch ID introduced, a better camera with the dual LED flash of the 5s, and possibly a jump to 2GB of system RAM.

This is Apple, we know it'll be incremental, minor updates for a year or so now the new design is out.

Just imagine what a killer device Apple could offer if they didn't do everything in minor incremental upgrades?

As long as people continue to pay for these devices then it'll always be this way. There are people upgrading from iPad 4's to iPad Air's and iPhone 5 to the 5s. As long as people are happy to keep up this trend then all companies, not just Apple, will continue to give incremental updates to their hardware.

A29 processor 14.4GHz quad core with 7.5GB L cache.

264GB RAM

Ultra retina display

700 hour battery life

iSuction slot for new "fellatio" apps

It will weigh 200lbs and be 17x the size of the iPad Air. Everyone will throw a hissy fit about Apple making a ridiculous decision to increase RAM on a device that only needs 1GB!!!!!!

Funny? No!

Just imagine what a killer device Apple could offer if they were able to use a magic shrink ray to reduce a 27" iMac to the size of an iPad mini.

Technology be damned, imagination is a wonderful thing!

Apparently a bump in resolution is on the cards.

Ummmm, no. Apple is not going to introduce yet another resolution to further fragment apps. Retina is already beyond what the human eye can see, so what's the point?

Thinner? That'd be impressive.

Lighter? That'd be welcome.

Faster? Unlikely. The A7 is pretty powerful. Maybe a equally powerful chip that consumes even less battery to help make it thinner/lighter?

Touch ID? Meh.

Faster wifi? Really? We need this next year?

Different colors? I'd be disappointed.

Even thinner bezels? No bezels? Hmmmm...

If the can shave another .25 lbs and keep the same battery life call it the new Air, I'd buy it.

Personally, I don't even care about hardware anymore. I'd love for them to just focus on the software and making the iPad a more productive device. Would love to see samsung style. Multitasking, system wide spotlight, and osx style quick actions for notifications.

Agreed. But that would be iOS 8, not iPad 6.

A8 processor
2gb ram
32, 64. 128 storage
Touch I'd
8mp camera
802.11ac wif
Igzo screen
Lighter since it will have a igzo screen and the a8 will be more efficient so they can use a smaller battery. Yet battery life will be 15 hours. Weight of air will be around 0.8lbs and the mini around 0.5 lbs.

This would be awesome. Add 2GB of RAM, and you'll have iPad perfection.

I'm in agreement with this. We're gonna see incremental upgrades in all aspects of the hardware regardless.

The only things I think that are likely NOT to "improve" are getting thinner and getting lighter. After the iPad 2 we saw the next iteration get slightly thicker and slightly heavier, but kept the same physical design. I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to keep the status quo, but with a bigger battery.

I hope they add TouchID (without making the button so clicky).

But yeah, I would love to see improved software. More RAM would help with the multi-tasking you're asking for. I'm gonna guess that it will be a long time before Apple lets you change default apps or your default keyboard, but they should definitely improve all of those somehow so we wouldn't complain about not bring able to change those.
