In a bit of dilemma at the moment... currently have a Air 4 that has LCD bleed in the usual common spots that others have reported who have the issue. I could live with it, but I just got this thing and it’s not a good experience for the price especially at night when that area stands out looking ugly and brown. Rest of the experience is great though... doesn’t blow me away but gets the basics right being really fast with a modern iPad design and good battery life. I’m concerned though that if I do get it replaced I’d just end up having the same defect on the new one... one of you reported having gone through 4!
Do Apple stores even give you the option of getting a gift card instead/using that to either downgrade or upgrade to a different model OR do they default to giving you the same iPad if it’s in stock? I’d honestly rather take a gift card which would give me time to decide what I want to do and not take the risk of getting another defective display with the Air 4.
case to downgrade to iPad 8 - I’ve heard good things about the display on this not being prone to having any issues. A12/3GB should still be fast enough for my usual on the go photo editing. Battery life should still be good. I could use the savings to finally get a keyboard folio+pencil.
case for the new pro - extremely futureproof, only $200 more, comes with all the bells and whistles, but still has a LCD display and if I and whoever else decides to get it soon would be the first to test if it has bleed. I’d be even more upset with the QC if it was on the pro. Already had that infamous white spot on my old Pro 10.5
