iPad Air 1st Gen with T-mobile - is it unlocked by default?

I have a 1st gen ipad air with tmobile - I was asked (since I'm trying to sell it) whether it will work with other sims? I did a little digging online and it 'sounds' like it is unlocked by default, but i figured I'd come here and ask the experts

As far as I know all of the iPad Air LTE models are unlocked.

Yep I went the other way I had AT&T and switched to tmobile didn't have to do any unlocking the t-mobile sales rep told me all tablets where unlocked by default even ones on payment plans

Keep in mind there may be a difference in which LTE bands are supported though. Google the model identifier of your iPad to verify.
