iPad Air 2 (iOS 9) Safari crash when using + to open new tab

This isn't just happening once in a while - it's happening every. single. time.

the "plus" to open new tab just boots me back to the home screen. Anyone else experiencing this behaviour? its frustrating as hell.

Hmmm, mine opens a new tab displaying the home screen. So your saying the page you are on just disappears and that content is no longer on another tab in Safari?

Might want to reset settings or start fresh. I don't have that problem on my Air 2 and have multiple tabs running by hitting the + button.

it doesnt seem to be happening anymore. it only happened when i was in a browser window, i.e. this one, and i clicked the plus up top. safari would just crash and bump me back to the homescreen.

i restarted the ipad and it was still happening. now after dinner though, i'm getting a new window like i should be getting....?

Weird. I haven't got this but get it regularly where I'm opening a new tab (or a new tab in the background)from a link in the current tab.
