I sold my iPad 3 (aka the new ipad) about 6 months as it was just getting too slow and my 6s+ was able to do most of what i did on my ipad. i was waiting to see what happened in October, i know i dont need a 12" iPP ( i have a MBP so no need for a laptop replacement) but i was hoping an Air 3 would come out at the latest event. Whilst the 9.7" iPP isnt far off what an ipad air 3 might have been, the pencil isnt a big deal for me neither is the speakers, plus the extra price difference in UK i dont think its worth it. So I'm wondering with the iPad air 2 already being 18months old is it still a good proposition to last 2-3 years ?

I don't have any issues with mine. I would have traded up to the 9.7 Pro but price of admission a bit too steep right now plus resale of iPads is pretty weak so I'd be shelling out more than in the past.

With the price drop of the Air 2 I think it's still very relevant, yes.
