iPad Air 2 to iPad Pro -- would this work?

I've managed to persuade myself that I would get better use from a Pro than an Air 2.

However, I only just got my Air 2 on a two-year contract, which includes 16GB per month of cellular data.

Could I sell the Air 2, and put the SIM into the Pro and just carry on as usual?

Shouldn't be a problem. iPads were never known to be carrier locked

Does the iPad Pro have a physical sim tray? I thought it used the built-in Apple sim?
