A few days ago, a comparison review between the iPad Air and iPad Pro had been published.

In the review there is a 'Front camera video test' which compares the microphones:

It looks like the iPad Air 2020 microphone quality is horrible.

Can anyone with the iPad Air upload a microphone test, or confirm it is a real issue?

YouTube compresses video audio, so that might not be accurate.
Just watch the attached video, it is not a compression different, the quality difference is significant.

The iPad Air 2020 microphones sounds unusable

I agree with you. I would not get the iPad Air if speaker or microphone quality is important to you. You would be much better looking for a 2018 iPad Pro, or even 2017. I do a lot of video recording and listen to music on the iPad Pro, and the sound is really impressive.

I thought it was a good comparison between the 2 models. I agree with his findings and recommendation. Thanks for sharing.
