Hi all, hope you are all well! this is my first post in this fantastic community. I’m Hoping you might be able to help me. I’ve had an i since they were first revealed and generally upgraded every year or two.

I currently have an iPad Air (2020 model) which i enjoy using but since purchasing it when it first came out I’ve been having a real problem which I’ve not seen anyone post about before. I seem to be having an issue with the screen and it’s response to my touch. When scrolling through pages I find that it doesn’t instantly respond. For example I can be scrolling through the forums and then I’ll try to stop it, or scroll back up and it wont do it first time. I find I have to re-place my finger sometimes several times which is highly frustrating.

My previous iPads have never had this problem and always worked flawlessly. I even reverted back to an old IPad just to see if it was me. Again it worked perfectly.

Is there something different about this screen that’s different to previous models? Is there a setting I can change that makes it act just like the old one? Also on a final note it’s not a fault with the iPad as I even took it back to Apple and had it replaced. I do have a screen protector on but even if I take it off it’s still the same.

hope you can help me.

It sounds like a software issue if you’ve already swapped the iPad for another one and are still having the same problems.

Have a read of the following article. It’s for the 2018 iPad Pro but will still be relevant for your 2020 Air -

I’ve encountered issues in the past where restoring a backup to a new iPad has caused a significant battery drain and it's possible that a corrupted backup is causing your performance issues. The only option was to set the iPad up as a new device and then download my apps from the app store, but I did lose some data.

If you do choose to set your iPad up as a new device, and that should be the last option, check the scrolling before you start installing all of your apps.
