I need an opinion:

What should a person get if these are their choices:

White/Silver iPad Air 16 gb WiFi for $456.xx (After Tax)

OR

I can choose White/Silver or Space Grey iPad Mini2 for $434.91 (After tax) (Might be able to get it down to $374.91).

Those are my choices. (Please do ask how I can get those prices cuz I can't be duplicated, but if it can, I will gladly update post so everyone else can get those prices).

So it is really big screen vs. small screen with price a factor.

BTW: I am not really an Apple person, however, I have a white iPhone 5 32 gb if it makes a difference and this will be my very first tablet.

Thank for your help.

Well, the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Air are rumored to have the same internals, so it comes down to form factor and personal preference! Bigger screen vs. Smaller screen!

How do you know how much the mini2 is. Air, had a mini too small for me. Rumour is their have a problem with mini 2 and screen burn in. Hence the delay.

Yes, it boils down to the big vs small screen. I just cant decide. :(

How are you getting those prices?

It is just not duplicated at the moment, however, if and when it is, I will update the post and share it. The iPad Air is $456 is already being shipped to me. I am just dedating on whether to sell the iPad Air to my co-worker for $480 and wait for the IpAd Mini2.

Apple said that was the iPad mini's price: $399 plus whatever local sales tax.

Yes, that is what I have read about the burn in problem with their supplier, Sharp. Apple is in talks with Samsung to produce the screens for the iPad mini2. Rumors are that the iPad mini2 may be further delayed.

The only wrong choice is NOT grabbing them at those indicated prices.

Personally, I'd go with the mini for the smaller form factor.

Is that a 16gb retina mini? If so...

Get the ipad air.

Normally the price difference is $100 between the 16GB air and mini...and you're getting it for a ~$20 price difference. Much better deal.

Ya, $20 is the difference, that is why I couldn't decide which is better for me.

Call me dumb, but I have decided that I am probably not best suited for a tablet. I don't play the kind if games that are in the App Store. I only surf the web etc.

Games, I prefer computer/playstation.

So I decided to sell it to my co-worker until she asked for a payment plan of $100 a month ... Ya, prefer not to wait that long.

I think I am going to try and sell it on craigslist for $480. (Not much of a discount from retail $499 plus tax - Los Angeles is a whopping 9%)

I am basically just covering my gas and someone is going to get a great deal.

Thanks all who have their input/opinions, I do appreciate them.

Which one is easier to hold?

The smaller one I assume.

Reconsider!

This is EXACTLY why you are a tablet person! Holding a tablet and surfing the web is IMO THE BEST WAY to experience the internet.

Due to this incredible technology you no longer are chained to a desk to surf the net...nor are you forced to place a laptop on your ... well... lap to go online.

You can just literally peruse webpages and email, watch videos, etc...while holding a thin relatively lightweight slab of aluminum all while manipulating web pages with your hands...

I too don't play ANY games on my ipad...I use it solely as a device for the web, reading, videos, email, shopping...and to this end tablets are THE perfect device!!!

.

For what it's worth the Air is the first iPad that is my go to browsing device as the speed for this task has increased substantially for me since my 3rd gen.
