I have been shooting video with my iPad air at concert at the university where I teach. The video quality is excellent and I would like to continue using the iPad for video, but i would like to improve the audio quality. I understand about the possibility of a lightning interface or a lightning mic that can attach to the iPad directly. What i am having trouble finding info in is the built in mic input that is shared with the headphone out jack. I have a battery powered condenser mic that I'd like to try using with this, but I have several questions:

1) Is this input mono only, or stereo? (my mic is stereo, and Audio Technica 2022)
2) If it's mono, can i still hook the 2022's 1/8" stereo cable up to this without damaging anything and use one of the mic only?
3) What kind of connector/adapter do i need to buy to make this work?

Thanks!
