My old dad has an iPad Air, that he uses every day. It is usually in the charger during the night. A short while ago, he plugged it in as usual, but in the morning it was just dead - completely! Cannot get any response from it, no reaction, no light, nothing.

Any ideas on how to wake up a dead iPad?
No button combination helps.
Charging gives no response.

PS!
He sits in his chair, reading newspapers or playing solitaire. No rough handeling, and the iPad appears as new (under the cover) - no dents or scratches. I see no reason why it should die.

Have you tried hooking it up to iTunes.

Recovery and or Dfu Mode may help.

If not seek advice through a Genius Bar appointment.

Yes... Tried it all. It never starts up, so I'm not able to connect to iTunes. Hooking it up to the computer or to a charger just gives no response what so ever.

I have cleaned the connector, to make sure there is no isolator to prevent power or connection, but that does not help either :-(

The curious thing is that I just can see no reason for it to die (unless boredom from playing to much solitaire counts).
